German Cockroaches
Fast-breeding German roaches infesting kitchens, bathrooms, and multi-unit buildings.
How to Identify German Cockroaches
German cockroaches are light brown with two dark parallel stripes behind the head, about half an inch long, and almost always found indoors near food and moisture — kitchens, bathrooms, and behind appliances. They reproduce faster than any other common structural pest, so a small sighting can become a real infestation within weeks.
Signs You May Have a Problem
- Roaches spotted at night when the kitchen light is flipped on
- Small dark droppings resembling coffee grounds or pepper flakes
- A musty odor in heavily infested cabinets or behind appliances
Why It Matters
German roaches spread bacteria and allergens and can trigger asthma symptoms, and they move easily between units in apartments and rentals through plumbing chases and shared walls. Store-bought sprays typically scatter roaches into neighboring rooms rather than solving the problem — gel bait and growth-regulator treatment breaks the breeding cycle instead.
